Edgewater Health 2017 Speakeasy Event

Friday, October 20, 2017- The Ambassadors for Edgewater hosted its annual Speakeasy Gala. The event was held at the Sand Creek Country Club, Chesterton, IN from 6pm-11:30 pm. 

Edgewater presented Broadway Area Community Development Corporation (BACDC) with its Commonweal Award for Institutional Leadership.  The award recognized BACDC valiant efforts to combat homelessness in our community by developing homes for low and moderate income individuals and families.

Edgewater also honored Senator Joe Donnelly with the Commonweal Award for Personal and Professional Leadership for his efforts in trying to heal our communities affected by the opioid epidemic.  In 2016, Senator Donnelly helped the Senate pass the bipartisan 21st Century Cures Act aimed at  combating  the opioid abuse and heroin use epidemics.  Though Senator Donnelly was not able to be present he did greet guests with a video message and acceptace speech.

Over 200 guests played their hands on the gaming tables and bided on wonderful silent auction items. Guests also tried their hands at winning prizes that included ladies fashion, electronics, and much more.

The Mike LaBroi Band, a 7 piece band played music and additional entertaiment geared towards the Speakeasy Era.  Braoadcast Journalist, Darryl W. Dennard, current host of iHeawrt Media’s WVAZ-FM, WGCI-FM and WGRB-AM regaled the guest throughout the night.
