Extending a huge “thank you” to The Food Bank of NWI for being available on Friday, November 19th, to help address food insecurity in our community.  Food Banks and community-based organizations work with health care partners to create a toolkit of local resources to address the specific needs of patients, including resources for families with children, seniors, or other targeted populations. Consistently having access to nutritional food is a major component of leading a healthier lifestyle. Great Job to the Edgewater Team for identifying individuals that are most affected by food insecurity.

On Saturday, October 23rd, Edgewater Health hosted a “Trunk or Treat” for everyone in the community to enjoy.  A special thank you to everyone who came and supported our event and our partners who made this event possible.

On Thursday, September 9th and Thursday, September 30th Edgewater Health hosted a “Healthy Harvest” Farmers Market.  Patients, staff, and community members had the opportunity to purchase locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables at wholesale prices. We are so happy for everyone who joined us and we look forward to next year’s Farmers Market.

The Edgewater Health Board of Directors Retreat was held at the Bottleworks Hotel in Indianapolis on August 19-20, 2021.  Ken Carr, Senior Associate with Open Minds led the board and senior leadership through the process of developing a new strategic plan.   Attorney T. James Junger with Hall Render, P.C. presented a workshop on Effective Board Governance and the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

Gov. Eric Holcomb has awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash, Indiana’s highest honor to Dr. Danita Johnson-Hughes, Edgewater Health President & CEO. It is a personal tribute usually given to those who have rendered a distinguished service to the state or to the governor and is recognized as the highest honor the governor bestows.
