Hope Nalls Chief Nursing Officer

Psychiatrist and is the Chief Medical Officer of Medical and Clinical Services at Edgewater


Hope A. Nalls is Chief Nursing Officer of Edgewater Systems. She has served in that role since 2016 overseeing the training of staff and the Edgewater’s new Behavioral Health Primary Care Integration program. She is responsible for providing guidance to help nursing team members transform the patient experience through quality nursing practice, patient centered care, and education using a team based approach. She has also held the position of Nurse Manager of Additions and Medication Assisted Treatment for Edgewater from 1996 to 2014.

Hope is a Registered Nurse with nearly 30 years of health care experience in management and leadership, addiction, inpatient and community based mental health nursing, infection control, legal nurse consulting, and education. She is a 1988 graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing with a Diploma as a Registered Nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2006 and a Master of Science in Nursing and Healthcare Education in 2008 from the University of Phoenix. She is Board Certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Registered Nurse from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Hope’s passion is in treating the whole person, community and public health nursing, quality and safety of persons served. She is skilled at resolving high pressure situations. She is currently leading a team of nurses in the development and implementation of evidence-based cancer control and prevention practices through the Cancer Control Community of Practice for Community Mental Health Organizations (Cancer CoP). CoP is a 6-month initiative that is comprised of eleven community mental health or addiction treatment provider organizations nationally that provide direct services to people with mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

Hope is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing, Indiana State Board of Nursing, American Nurses Association, American Psychiatric Nursing Association, and National League for Nursing.

Hope is a past Advisory Board Member for ITT Technical College School of Nursing and IVY Tech Community School of Nursing and currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for Denmark College School of Nursing. She is a Professor of Nursing and teaches at various colleges of nursing throughout Northwest Indiana. She is a Nationally Certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor and
