As the Chronic Care Management/Behavioral Health Integration specialist, I can serve multiple populations. The goal is to serve in a capacity that assists entire families. I love watching people become productive citizens in society. As a Provider, the ability to assist in changing lives is of the utmost importance. Where family and friends may lack the experience, a Provider can often time succeed.

My first employment opportunity in Indiana started with Dr. Okechi Nwabara at Internal Medicine Center over 20 years ago as a medical assistant. He later partnered with Edgewater. Because of his unwavering encouragement, I furthered my education in nursing after which my first job as an LPN was at the Rapid Access Center. I remember him saying to me “Don’t you dare stop here, I can see you one day becoming a Provider.” I later received my RN, BSN, then MSN. It is because of Edgewater that I am allowed to serve as a Nurse Practitioner, for which I am extremely grateful.

As a provider, my approach will be to recognize issues that are present and to encourage them to talk about those that are not. Building a rapport and addressing care gaps is one way to home in on neglected care issues, and to strengthen my relationship with my patients at the same time. I am strengthened when my patients are properly cared for.
